You are welcome to register spouses or any other guests for the events.  When you register, you will be asked how many will be attending the events/activities listed below. If you pay by PayPal or credit card there will be an extra 4% charge. You can also register and pay by check here.

Friday Night - July 1, 2022

5:00 pm - 7:00 PM:    Pool Courtyard Reception
Reunite with your classmates and their guests at the Riverside Casino’s pool courtyard. Appetizers will be served and the class will purchase a keg for those wanting to drink beer. A cash bar will be available for people wanting other beverages. You and your guest must sign up for either food, beer or both.
$15 per person = Beer only

​$30 per person = Food only

$45 per person = Beer and food

Saturday - July 2, 2022

10:00 AM:  Tour of Iowa City High School (See Tour article)
See what has changed, and what has stayed the same, at "The School That Leads" via a tour led by a member of the Little Hawk Ambassador Program.  Although there is no charge, advance registration will allow us to determine how many Ambassador Club members are need to lead tours.

12:00 PM:  Lunch at Blackstone  (See Blackstone article)
Blackstone opened in 2007 and is located on 503 Westbury Drive, near the corner of Rochester Avenue and Scott Boulevard.  Its food menu features "American classics with unique twists," while its drink menu offers "unique martinis, 8 rotating craft beers and a whiskey menu featuring over 150 bottles from around the world." Lunch attendees will pay for their own orders but advanced registration will allow us to determine the number of tables that need to be reserved.

1:50 PM:    Golf  (please be there 15-20 minutes early) (See Blue Top Ridge article)
A 9-hole best ball tournament at Riverside Casino's Blue Top Ridge Golf Course.  Golf Digest selected the Blue Top Ridge as one of the nation's top five new public courses in 2009. Sign up now and Jay Hazlett will reach out to see if you have a foursome in mind  or if you need to be assigned to one.  Use of a golf cart is included as part of the tournament registration. DRESS CODE:  Shirts must have collars, no t-shirts, no denim.

5:00 PM to 9:00 PM:    Reunion Dinner Program at Riverside Casino (See Riverside Casino article)
A buffet dinner followed by music and a presentation of the Class of 1981 slideshow (upgraded to DVD format!)  A cash bar will be available.

After the slideshow, Class of 1981 member Rich Webster, a 2014 inductee into the Iowa Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame, will be singing and playing keyboards and guitar. He’s bringing an extra microphone so other Class of 1981 members can sing, too. Renditions of songs popular during our high school years are especially encouraged. If you are interested in singing, please contact ichsclass1981@gmail.com and let us know what song you want to sing so we can pass it along to Rich and he can make sure he knows the song and can accompany you. (Rich notes that backing music for some songs is pretty much impossible to recreate with just a guitar or keyboards, so he might have to send you back to the drawing board.)

pictures and/or ads in a booklet that we are putting together for the reunion. Your support will allow us
to pay deposits and make the reunion a great success.

HOTEL INFORMATION

*  The Riverside Casino & Golf Resort, located less than 15 miles south of Iowa City, will be the venue for most of our reunion events.  A block of rooms is being held at a discounted rate for our class. To make reservations, call Riverside Casino directly at 319-648-1234 and tell them you are making the reservation as part of the City High Class Reunion Block. Reserve your room before June 1, 2022, as remaining rooms in the block will be released on that day.

The Riverside Casino also features The Spa at Riverside Resort. Advanced reservations are recommended for spa services. (Go to https://www.riversidecasinoandresort.com/spa.html.)

PLEASE NOTE:

• We will need to provide head counts ahead of the events, so registration by June 10, 2022, will be required for attendance. INDIVIDUALS SHOWING UP AT RIVERSIDE CASINO EVENTS WITHOUT HAVING REGISTERED BY THAT DATE WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE. 

 

• If there is a need to postpone reunion events, such as due to the state of the COVID-19 pandemic, registration fees paid will be applied to the new dates unless specific requests for refunds are made.
